It is time people were made aware of the truth: smoking a cigar or cigarette occasionally will probably make no difference to your health. Living in a city with a high reliance on vehicles is probably more dangerous!
I have recently become acquainted with a gentleman called Glynn Quelch, one of the up and coming stars in tobacco and cigars. At 28 years old, he blends pipe tobacco (which I would like to learn about at some stage) and loves his cigars for what they are. I recall in a recent conversation:
“Akhil, a cigar is just a cigar, no matter where its from or the marketing around it… you either like it or you don’t”.
Certainly he has a way with words! A refreshing attitude and one that will help attract and retain new consumers. By removing the smoke and mirrors (excuse the pun), I feel that Glynn is helping to debunk myths around cigars and make them accessible to new people. “Most of my clients are young people now… they like to try new things”. I cant help but think we need more people like this, otherwise the cigar could become a thing of the past.
Glynns blog is informative and entertaining, some frank and honest reviews up there and a great article on the display ban which can be found here:
